Towards an optimal customer experience

An e-commerce site is much more than just an online shop window. It represents a strategic tool for the brand, whose aim is to convert visitors into customers and carry out online transactions. An excellent user experience is therefore key: UX is the key to turning visitors into loyal customers, and to standing out from the competition. That’s why investing in UX on this project was so important to its e-commerce success.

APPROACH

Existing site analysis

Analysis of KMK’s existing site showed that the previous site was penalized by overly complex technology that slowed loading times considerably, degrading the user experience and resulting in lost sales: all of which prevented the brand from growing. Updates were also time-consuming for the site manager.

Wordpress, Poylang, Woocommerce and Stripe for KMK

To remedy this situation, I opted for a proven and flexible solution: WooCommerce on WordPress with online payment via Stripe. This migration not only simplified product and site management, but also offered customers a smooth and pleasant shopping experience.

What’s more, by centralizing the management of domain names, mailboxes and hosting, the brand has gained in efficiency and consistency.

User experience to boost conversion

Optimizing the user experience was at the heart of this project to boost conversion and loyalty. Drawing on a rigorous UX methodology, I implemented concrete solutions to improve conversion rates and customer satisfaction thanks to an intuitive customer journey, guiding the user seamlessly from product discovery through to the act of purchase. Intuitive navigation, high-performance search and detailed product sheets have reduced friction and facilitated decision-making, as has the secure payment process. What’s more, the uniform visual presentation of products has helped to reinforce the coherence of the offer and improve the brand image.

In order to offer an optimal, consistent user experience across all media, the site has been designed according to the principles of Responsive Design. This approach guarantees fluid, intuitive navigation, whatever the device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

The translation into three languages, coupled with an optimized SEO strategy, improved our visibility on search engines and broadened the site’s international reach to better align with the study of its personas.
